This is our current work and pieces of our thoughts. We live in Tulsa, Oklahoma but are well travelled and will go anywhere you want to take us. Our new blog will be ready in just a few weeks! We'll leave this one up for a bit with a link to it since nothing can transfer over - boo hoo! If there's a favorite post in here you want us to repost in the new blog, drop me a line or ring me and I'll move it over when the time is here.

Kansas Extravaganza!

WOW! A true fairytale wedding was all tied up in ribbons and bows in Kansas Saturday. The skies cleared and the outdoor ceremony and reception was spectacular. It was a large wedding with an intimate feel, a cozy outdoor fireplace, and a big finish with a surprise fireworks display for the new couple. Congratulations Laurel and Blake. We had a great time!

A Garden of Love

Saturday at the Tulsa Garden Center was the setting for a beautiful ceremony and celebration for this tiny marathon runner and her handsome groom. The long faces following that Sooner loss were long gone and all smiles as this darling couple cemented their friendship with marital vows. It was gorgeous! Thanks so much for trusting us with your special day and feeding us the best food we've ever been served at a wedding! We had a great time. Aloha - Lisa

Summer Rain

Saturday was the official kickoff of the fall season but with all the heat around here we had little rain storms popping up all over the place - even at Western Hills on Lake Ft. Gibson where Shannon and Allen tied the knot in between cloud bursts. It was a beautiful ceremony and the little shower before just cooled things off and didn't delay it too much. Under a beautifully attended iron gazebo, lovingly handcrafted by the bride's father, they exchanged their vows. I believe the bride described her dress as all business up front and all party in the back - we agree - it was great! They skipped the traditional champagne toast and passed out tequila shots and the party got started! Congratulations! We had a great time!

Big Apple Bridal

OMG! This weekend was incredible. I was in NYC for a few days and shot an engagment session and then this bridal session. It was such fun. We shot all over Park Avenue, Grand Central Station, Chelsea Pier and then Times Square, where we practically stopped traffic and caused quite a stir! I do not do traditional bridal sessions - I just don't like them - too "somethingish" - I don't know. Anyway, I love to shoot bridal portraits MY way but don't get a lot of takers - go figure! I LOVE it when a bride is so up for anything - doesn't care about wearing her dress out before her wedding - (I'm very careful BTW) and just wants to have FUN in it - I mean she's only going to wear it for a few hours on her wedding day so let's go make some great images with it NOW!! Jessica was just this bride. She was up for it. She knew I was going to NYC for an engagement session and wanted to come along and pack her gown for some fun. We did and it was! Thanks Jess, I had the best time. Hope you love your images as much as I do. (The best thing is: SHE HAS A LITTLE SISTER!) Oh, how lucky can I get? xxoo Lisa

NYC Engagement

This darling couple is getting married in May, 2007. Their families are from Tulsa but they went off to the BIG APPLE to make their dreams come true! Well, I absolutely must visit NYC at least twice year for a "fix" so they were my perfect excuse. A few days in the city - it's just good for what ails ya'! These two live on Roosevelt Island - small strip of land between Manhattan and Queens - it's very quaint. I never would have been there but for this. It was so wonderful. I had such a good time. These two were great troopers - the heat was great but tolerable - and they gave me some terrific restaurant tips - always worth it!
I can't wait for your wedding. It will be so much fun. You guys were great hosts. Thanks for everything! Lisa

Ready for close-ups!

We had a wonderful treat Saturday morning for this session -- a cool front! It's only 80's today! The park was beautiful and take a look at these two. What incredible eyes on this bride and a smoldering groom! This August wedding officially kicks off my fall season. It's going to be FUN!

Beginnings...

First babies -- such a special time - the birth of a new baby AND a new mom. I love to photograph expectant mothers - the wonder and trust in their faces as they wait for this little person who will completely change their lives is amazing and so present in appearance. It's a light...from an angel. :-)

How Lucky can I get?

I couldn't have ordered these two from a catalog and had them be any better! This was sooo fun! You guys were amazing and so up for anything - I love that! I can't wait for your Big Fat Greek Wedding this fall.

Hot times in Tulsa Today

Wow! Early morning engagement session with Judy and Tate. There's definitely a heatwave in Tulsa with temperatures in upper 80's before 9:00 a.m. but that's not the only thing cookin' in T-town -- the chemistry between these two is pretty hot too! You guys were troopers. I had a great time with you! Lisa

Karaoke Contest In Fayetteville

You may think this is Michael Jackson but it's really my wonderful son, Brent. He was in a karaoke contest last Saturday night in Fayetteville, AR. He performed Maniac and then donned this MJ get up. He is sooo funny! We had a great time with all the kids at You Know?? Uno! karaoke bar. Personally, I think it was rigged! Brent was the absolute best performance by far and definitely had the popular vote of the place too! Oh, well - you'll always be first to me, baby! You can see more photos of this event by going to www.lsdphotos.com and view proofs with password "karaoke".

Baby Arrives

I've been such a bad blogger lately. Just too busy I guess. Anyway, I had this darling baby in here weeks ago with the most beautiful mother! He was just 2 weeks old and look how strong!

Historical Saturday Night

Amy and Marc are officially husband and wife exchanging vows Saturday night at the Tulsa Historical Society. The reception created the feel of a retro nightclub with fiber optic centerpieces, colored lights and Austin band The Recliners performing -- and occasionally supplemented by the groom in true karaoke fashion. A beautiful night and a beautiful time! Thanks Amy & Marc and Congratulations. - Lisa & Jay

Cherokee County Bride

What a wonderful time we had yesterday at this wedding. It was a perfect setting - rolling green hillsides of Cherokee County, Oklahoma. The bride and groom had all their close friends and family attending, an energentic DJ - good food, champagne - an all-out celebration. One of the most romantic weddings I've ever seen. Here's a glimpse of their day. Thanks so much for having us. Congratulations! Lisa & Jay

James W. Dunham Running for Tulsa County District Judge

Many of you know my darling husband - Jay - because he's an excellent photographer and an integral part of my wedding day team. BUT did you know that in the "off season" he's a tremendous trial attorney? Well, he is and now he's thrown his hat in the ring for District Judge. Voters in Tulsa and Pawnee Counties will decide the race between J Dunham, J Anthony Miller, David Youll, Deirdre Dexter, Mary Fitzgerald and Steve Hjelm. He's perfectly suited for this job and will make a fine Judge. I'm so proud of him! Please get out the VOTE!

Oklahoma Ties

Why do all these beautiful brides leave Tulsa? They just have to come back to get married! I finally got to meet Chad and Gretchen in person when they came in from Tennessee for wedding plans today. It doesn't take long to see why these two are getting married. They have such fun just being together. Sounds like a gorgeous Holiday wedding in the works. Get that chocolate cake!

Summer Romances: Blake & Laurel

Met in Kansas, moved to LA - drove to Tulsa for engagement photos. And I'm so glad they did! Planning a fall wedding in Kansas (from California) this darling couple and I hadn't met before yesterday. Visiting family at Grand Lake put them close enough to get here and play a little bit before the big day. Thanks for making it to Tulsa. You two are so cute together and you look amazing! I can hardly wait until fall.

Bride is a Total "Wipe Out" at Wedding!

John and Keli tied the knot Saturday evening at the Tulsa Country Club as friends and family watched under the backdrop of the Tulsa skyline. The bride was incredibly beautiful, don't you think? A reception followed at TCC with a live band - Blender from OKC - and with her handsome new husband pushing her on stage, the bride knocked out a thrashing rendition of "Wipe Out" on the drums with Blender accompanying. It was fabulous! Thanks for a great time Keli and John. Everything was wonderful. Congratulations and keep making each other laugh!

Porter-Pilkington Rehearsal Dinner

What a beautiful weekend for a wedding. I think this is the most popular wedding weekend in Tulsa this year - they're everywhere! After a quick run thru of the ceremony, Keli and John retreated with their guests to The Summit Club at the top of the Bank of America building in beautiful downtown Tulsa for a wonderful rehearsal dinner. Plenty of toasts, good food and friends and a gorgeous sunset. Love those Oklahoma skies.

Energizer Bunny is too slow...

for this little guy! I couldn't get my camera to auto focus during this session until I set it on the "moving subject" mode! Wow! Busy busy busy! Little boys are one of my favorite things in life - so full of wonder and curiosity...and MOTION! This one was not quite walking but I think I might actually have captured one of his first steps. He is so close to being completely mobile. I hope his mom is resting up! I hope he had as much fun as I did! Thanks for sharing your most precious gifts with me!

Long Distance Romance - but not today

I must be the luckiest person in the world! First - I get to do what I absolutely love for a living and then I have the MOST beautiful brides (and the grooms aren't bad either I might add) in the world. Today I had an engagement session with the cutest couple who are at present maintaining a Vegas to Norman romance until their fall wedding. They're like the daily double on dimples - just gorgeous! They got to spend the holiday weekend together and took time out for me - see how lucky I am? Hope to see you in Vegas later this summer for your bridals and I can hardly wait to get more great photos of you two together. Thanks so much!

On the Road Again

In just a few minutes I could see why this couple was getting married. They truly enjoy each other - make each other laugh - and just have fun together. That usually makes for a good marriage! I had such a great time with you guys. Practice that leaning thing, okay? :-) Can't wait for the wedding - and the band!

EUREKA!

This weekend was a blast! We were in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, for the wedding of Lynn and Josh. An intimate wedding at The Thorncrown Chapel followed by a spectacular reception in the Conservatory at The Historic Crescent Hotel and a nightcap on the roof at Dr. Bakers. A fun time was had by all and every detail was attended -- it was beautiful. Thanks for having us and taking such good care of us. We wish you a lifetime of happiness together! Lisa & Jay

Greg & Nicole - Married at last!

May 13th was the wedding day of Nicole and Greg. After many last minute catastrophes with hair, dresses, purses and all, they are--at last--husband and wife! A beautiful ceremony at Holy Family followed by a magnificent reception at The Petroleum Club in downtown Tulsa was a great time for all! Congratulations Nicole and Greg! We wish you many blessings in your lives together. Thank you for letting us be part of your special day.

Celebrations

The Tivoli Inn in Broken Arrow was the site of a beautiful Rehearsal Dinner for Greg and Nicole. The night was clear, soft harp music and toasts from their friends and family made it complete. They're ready to become husband and wife tonight at 7 o'clock and begin their lives together. Congratulations!

Tiny Dancer

Trying to get a picture of these two cousins in their Easter dresses for the grandmother proved very challenging! Made me remember why I don't do those kind of pictures - ha ha! Brooklyn had tiny pink ballet slippers and even though she can't stand up yet, she looked like a tiny dancer in all her poofy pink and slippers. So sweet. We did get a few "just life" photos while they were getting dressed and just playing together. I'm sure they'll be best friends!

Family life

The sweetest, happiest family was here today. 2 darling boys who are the happiest boys I've seen in a while! They are a close and God-centered family who shine His light very brightly. It was a pleasure to photograph you guys and you're so right - you are very blessed.
