This is our current work and pieces of our thoughts. We live in Tulsa, Oklahoma but are well travelled and will go anywhere you want to take us. Our new blog will be ready in just a few weeks! We'll leave this one up for a bit with a link to it since nothing can transfer over - boo hoo! If there's a favorite post in here you want us to repost in the new blog, drop me a line or ring me and I'll move it over when the time is here.

It's Prom Time!

These two met me for a quick session on the Riverwalk Friday evening before they attended the Claremore Senior Prom at the Jenks Aquarium. Once again, we almost got rained on! They certainly look like they're ready to go out into the world, don't they? What a fun time in life -- great dresses, lots of laughs with friends to finish out your high school career. Good Luck Amanda and Jeremy! Hope you guys had fun!

Artists at Large

I had THE best time with these 2 today! They are true artists at heart - I love that. They were so cute and comfortable with each other. It's so nice to have that in front of your camera! Fluid movement - spontaneous movements - it was wonderful! AND -- they have a Vespa! I can't wait! How fun it that! Sarah and Chris - I had a great time - only one BUM MOMENT in downtown Tulsa - It was FUN! Thanks so much. Can't wait for Dresser and Stella.

Mighty Meredith Ties the Knot!

I could have entitled this "Polly Pocket gets Married"! Meredith is the tiniest, sweetest, little darlin' of a girl and Josh is her big, baseball playing man. Saturday was the date they have been waiting for for over a decade. High School sweethearts all grown up and starting their lives together. Their families couldn't be happier for them and the entire weekend was evidence of that! A wonderful rehearsal dinner at The Blue Mesa Grille started things off right. A gorgeous Texas day on Saturday was the perfect backdrop for the heartfelt vows they exchanged in their Dallas Baptist church and made the night clear for a rockin' reception at the Doubletree Hotel - where, I'm told, they filmed the infamous "Who Shot J.R." episode of Dallas. It was quite a view from the Skyline Ballroom on the 21st floor with all the sparkling lights of Big D but even all those lights couldn't outshine the Bride & Groom and their obvious love for one another. Congratulations Meredith & Josh! Thanks for a great weekend! Lisa & Jay

APRIL 21, 2007 - WEDDING CANCELLED

The wedding on April 21, 2007, has been cancelled and there's at least one broken heart involved. I know it's only a few weeks away but if anyone needs a wedding photographer on this date, please call. It was going to take place at Camp Loughridge so that's probably available as well. Over a year's worth of planning was done on this wedding as she hired me in March of 2005 so if you're wanting to throw a nice wedding in just a few weeks, call me and we'll see what all you can step right into. As bad as cancelling a wedding so close may feel, it's not half as bad as marrying the wrong person because you already had your dress! Good Luck, Lori.

Virginia is for Lovers

That sounds like a bumper sticker..umm. Well, it should be - Kate and Todd are set to tie the knot this summer so we spent a little time last week in Alexandria, VA where they met and live, and the dogs weren't the only ones with cold noses. It was a little chilly but we forged ahead and had so much fun in Old Town Alexandria. Their dogs are actually the matchmakers here. It was Duke and Chevy that introduced them and kept them running into each other until they fell in love. They'll soon be one big happy - fuzzy - family. I had a great time in your beautiful little town guys. Thanks so much! July will be here before you know it!

The Marshall Family had 3 week old Samuel Thomas baptized today at Asbury United Methodist Church by Pastor Tom. He was so good! Isn't this a nice looking family? They are all pretty excited about having a little brother in the house. I am too. (A new baby to photograph!) Welcome to the Faith little Sam. You're in good hands.

WEDDING DATE AVAILABLE!

As most of you know, we book up pretty far in advance. HOWEVER, I just had June 2nd move their date to fall so I do have JUNE 2, 2007, available again. There are a few Saturdays available in the Spring & Summer schedule but not many left. We are now booking all FALL AND WINTER weddings and even a 2008! It's never too early! I realize the June date may be too soon for most of you brides ... so I'll probably just end up at the lake that weekend!

Welcome to the Sisterhood

We've always had a right of passage - a celebration - when each of our children, godchildren, grandchildren, yada yada, reaches the age of ten. We call it the Double Digit Celebration and we always make a BIG deal about it. It's kinda spilled over into my business because I think everyone realizes that age 10 is the threshold of adulthood - the single digit years are over and before you can blink sometimes your child is grown. My Double Digit portrait sessions have now become a celebration in their own right. You can probably see why with these photos. I've taken pictures of this child since she was born and now she's 10. So sweet and beautiful with all the innocence of a child and the promise of great things for the woman she'll soon become. Now that's reason to Celebrate! Welcome to the Sisterhood!

WE are NEVER getting out of here!

Most of you know by now that we had the Mother of all Ice Storms this past weekend. It started on Friday around noon and for the next 4 days we had ice, sleet, freezing rain, a little snow flurry from time to time and then more ice. If you've ever been to my studio, in my home, you know I am pretty far off the road, and up on a hill. My driveway scares people in good weather. Take a look at it now. I finally ventured out to the street on Monday to take these photos but it was sooo cold, I retreated rather promptly. You don't even make footprints - it is very weird.

Holes!

Last week - before the weather trapped all of us inside - I took my daughter, Kate and my granddaughter, Ashtyn, to the mall to get their ear pierced. I told Kate she had to wait until she was 10 and then she could do it and when she got to 10, she decided to wait a little while. Now, she's 12 and Ashtyn is 10 so they've talked each other into it. Here's a couple pics. I have to say, Ashtyn was the big motivator behind this venture and yet ended up making a bigger fuss in the end - nothing a little dippin dots couldn't cure - these two can do anything together - that's kinda scary, actually. Bottom line - they've both got a couple more holes in their heads now!

Tatum's first snow!

My darling granddaughter, Tatum, (20 months) got to experience her first snow recently. She is a very cautious girl so it took her awhile to even step in it and let me move far enough away to take a picture!

A rose of Texas with a Sooner heart!

What do you get when you cross a Dallas girl with a Sooner? A beautiful daughter, I guess! At least that's what the Moores got. Take a peek at Meredith's bridal "portraits". Another gorgeous day for this gorgeous March bride.

Wildcatting in Oklahoma

From a windy November to hot July, these two "land persons" met at an landman seminar and have been accumulating continuing education credits together ever since. Congratulations Amber and Brandt! We're looking forward to your summer wedding (so glad it's indoors!)

Big D Sweethearts

This darling couple has spring 2007 nuptials planned but we took a little time this fall to play a little in the botannical gardens of Dallas, Texas. I stopped by on my way to Texarkana for the big family wedding and we had such a great time. Meredith and Josh are truly happy together and let me drag them all over the Dallas area - gardens to Deep Elem - I had a great time and I'm pretty sure they did too, (although I seem to remember Josh saying something about Meredith not kissing him enough but it didn't look that way to me!) Aren't they sweet?

Trying to Catch UP!!!

As many of you know, we have been shooting up a storm around here and then---my own son, Brent, tied the knot in Texarkana, TX, October 28th, to his beautiful bride - Megan. My wonderful friend and mentor, Jason Hudson and his talented and beautiful (the daily double) wife, Kori, shot their wedding. Of course, the pictures are wonderful! You can see a few of them at his website - Hudsonphotos.com - in the portfolio-2006 weddings-Brent & Megan, October 28th. Thank you Hudsons! You're the BEST and the only ones to whom I would entrust my firstborn baby's special day.

Back to my title - I'm trying to catch up - 10 days in Texas for wedding preps and such has set me back a bit. I promise I'm working as fast as my hands and eyes can keep up. All October wedding images will be completed and posted to your gallery in the coming week. Thank you so much for your patience.

Full Moon in Okmulgee

The day began with a wrecked truck and ended with a gorgeous full moon and somewhere in between, with family and friends looking on, these two pledged their love to one another in a quiet ceremony in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. The groom won the daily double - a beautiful bride and a darling little "Angel" of a daughter. Good luck to the new Pierce family! Lisa & Jay

Perfection in September

The last day of September proved perfect for this darling couple to exchange their long awaited vows. Knowing each other for years and with their professions taking them in different direction geographically, they somehow ended up in the same place long enough to get reacquainted and discover their true love for one another. Congratulations!

Kansas Extravaganza!

WOW! A true fairytale wedding was all tied up in ribbons and bows in Kansas Saturday. The skies cleared and the outdoor ceremony and reception was spectacular. It was a large wedding with an intimate feel, a cozy outdoor fireplace, and a big finish with a surprise fireworks display for the new couple. Congratulations Laurel and Blake. We had a great time!

A Garden of Love

Saturday at the Tulsa Garden Center was the setting for a beautiful ceremony and celebration for this tiny marathon runner and her handsome groom. The long faces following that Sooner loss were long gone and all smiles as this darling couple cemented their friendship with marital vows. It was gorgeous! Thanks so much for trusting us with your special day and feeding us the best food we've ever been served at a wedding! We had a great time. Aloha - Lisa

Fall Arrival

This little boy is already wiggling - A LOT - trying to come into the world. He's got to wait a few more weeks though. Congratulations to first time parents! It's a great ride!
